How the Meal Plan Works

  • What is the difference between Meals and Dining Dollars?

Each meal plan provides a block of "meals" to be used at the Creekside Eatery located on residential campus. One "meal swipe" equals one all-you-care-to-eat meal. "Dining dollars" may be used dollar-for-dollar at most  across campus.

  • What is an Exchange?

Meal plan participants in the Complete Cuisine Plan 7u彩票网址are able to exchange a meal swipe for an equivalent value of $8 towards purchases at Seawolf Dining venues across campus. These venues include Subway, eXpress, Borealis Brew, The Daily Grind and the Taqueria in the Student Union.

If you'd like to be able to exchange your meal swipes to use at locations other than the Creekside Eatery on residential campus, the Complete Cuisine Plan (the only plan to offer exchanges) is a great option.

  • Where can I use Dining Dollars on Campus?

Dining Dollars are accepted at campus food or coffee venues operated by Seawolf Dining:  Creekside Eatery, The Bear Necessities, Borealis Brew, The Daily Grind, eXpress, Kaladi Brothers Cafe at the library, Taqueria. Please visit the 7u彩票网址s and Dining webpage 7u彩票网址for information about these venues.

7u彩票网址Venues operated by students or other groups such as the Student Union Coffee 7u彩票网址 or Info Desk, Drowsy Wolf Cafe or Lucy's Restaurant do not accept Dining Dollars.

  • How do I use my meals and dining dollars on campus?

Meal blocks and dining dollars are loaded onto your Wolfcard (student ID) allowing you to simply swipe your card for meals, coffee, snacks, etc.

  • Are students living on campus required to have a meal plan?

Students living in one of the residence halls (North, East or West Halls) are required to purchase one of the primary meal plans (Complete Cuisine, Weekly Servings or Satiated Semester). If you're assigned to one of those halls and don't pick a meal plan, the default Weekly 14 plan will be added for you in the week before check-in.

Students in the MAC or Templewood apartments are not required to have a plan, but are welcome to purchase any of the plans, including one of the Add-On plans. Having a meal plan provides easy and convenient access to meals when you don't feel like preparing meals on your own.

  • Can I purchase a meal plan if I don't live on campus?

7u彩票网址Yes!  Any of the meal plans, including one of the Campus or Add-on plans, are available for students.  Please contact the Housing Office if you don't live on campus and are interested in purchasing a plan.

  • If I move into student housing mid-semester, can I purchase a prorated meal plan?

The Weekly 14 plan is available at a prorated rate for students who move into student housing after the first two weeks of school. Late move-in residents of North, East or West Halls will be assigned the Weekly 14 plan at a prorated rate when they are assigned a room. Apartments residents can choose the prorated Weekly 14 plan or one of the add-on plans if they wish.

  • How can I see how many meal swipes or dining dollars I have left during the semester?

You can check your Wolfcard balance (including your meal swipes or dining dollars balance) on the  website.

  • When are meal plans offered?

7u彩票网址Meal plans are available during the fall and spring semesters. Meal plans are not offered during the summer sessions.

  • How do I pay for my meal plan?

Your meal plan charge will be billed to your student account and will be due by the published UAA payment deadlines

  • Can I use a meal swipe to treat someone else to a meal?

7u彩票网址Yes. You are able to use more than one meal swipe per meal time. For example, if mom and dad visit, or you wish to treat a friend to dinner, you are able to use as many swipes as you like on a single occasion.

  • What happens if I have a non-weekly plan and I run out of meals before the end of the semester?

You can purchase one of the Meal Plan Add-ons as long as your student financial account is in good standing

  • What happens if I don't use all my meals or dining dollars during the semester, or all my weekly meals during the week?

Unused meal swipes and dining dollars in the Complete Cuisine or Satiated Semester plans expire at the end of the semester.  Unused meals on the weekly plans expire at the end of each week.

  • How can faculty or staff purchase a Campus Meal Plan?

UAA faculty of staff can purchase a plan through payroll deduction or can pay for it directly at a Seawolf Dining location. Please complete the and submit the original form to the HR office at the University Lake Building, 3890 University Lake Drive.

How Do I Select a Meal Plan

7u彩票网址Students can select a meal plan on their Housing Self-Service page via UAOnline during a designated time after room assignments are finalized for the fall and spring semesters. Students will receive an email from the Housing Office once this option is available. If students are assigned to a residence hall, where a meal plan is required, but do not choose a meal plan via UAOnline, the default meal plan of 14 meals per week and $200 dining dollars will be automatically added to their student account before check-in.

At the conclusion of the fall semester, students will have the opportunity to renew their current meal plan, or choose a different plan for the spring semester. If students are assigned to a residence hall, where a meal plan is required, but do not choose a new spring meal plan via UAOnline, their fall meal plan will be automatically renewed before the start of the new semester. Students can also change their meal plan between semesters by completing a Meal Plan Change Form at the Housing Desk prior to the first Friday of instruction.

Meal plan selections are binding as of 5:00 pm on the first Friday of instruction in the fall and spring semesters and may not be changed for that semester.

Which Meal Should I Choose

7u彩票网址When choosing a meal plan, take a moment to review your schedule, travel, work hours, or anything else that might affect when you'll eat most of your meals so that you can make an informed decision on which meal plan to choose.

  • If you want to ensure that you don't run out of meals towards the end of the semester and that you have regular meals every week, then one of the two Weekly Servings Plans, which gives you 14 or 18 meals per week may be the best option.
  • If you'd like flexibility in how you use your meals (you may use more meals one week and less the week after), then the Complete Cuisine Plan of 250 meals, or one of the Satiated Semester Plans of 175 or 225 meals would better suit your needs.
  • If you think you'll be eating most often at venues other than Creekside Eatery on Residential Campus (Subway or other venues on main campus), the Complete Cuisine Plan of 250 meals, which allows you to use your meal blocks as $8 equivalencies at locations across campus, may be the best plan for you.
