7u彩票网址With an expected 1,100 people in attendance and 30 STEM teams providing hands-on activities, tours, planetarium shows, and presentations, STEM Day 2019 is going to be exciting! Thank you to all of our volunteers, presenters and all the groups that hosted events. We would also like to give a special thanks to the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Engineering, the American Chemical Society (Alaska Chapter), the UAA Honors College and the College of Health, for their generous support of UAA STEM Day. Your contributions were a significant part of our success.

Our Demo Shows are entertaining and inspiring! We explore natural phenomena with professional scientists from UAA.
The Chemistry Demo is at Noon in CPISB, RM 120.
Dr. Wrenn is dropping some base to create amazing color-changing solutions. The chemistry demo show at this year's STEM day was colorful and explosively fun.
The Physics Demo is at 2:30 PM in CPISB, RM 120.
The Planeterrella auroral simulator from Prof. Nathaniel Hicks’s Plasma Lab produces a colorful plasma discharge between two high-voltage electrodes.
Take a tour of our facilities and catch a glimpse of the exciting work of a STEM professional. Our tours range across multiple buildings around campus. We will provide shuttle transportation to our facility tours. Check back for updates on our STEM Day 2019 Tours Schedule.
We offer free STEM shows in Alaska's lagest planetarium! Our previous shows have covered topics ranging from Astronomy to Biology. Shows typically run for approxamately 30 minutes.
Tickets will be available at the front entrance starting at 10:30am. Each person is limited to grabbing 2 tickets for up to 3 shows. When tickets are all taken, there will be a stand-by line outside the planetarium. People are encouraged to wait in line for the show they want to see as not all tickets that are taken get used.

October 5th is also International Observe the Moon Night
International Observe the Moon Night is an annual worldwide public event that encourages observation, appreciation and understanding of our Moon and its connection to NASA planetary science and exploration. The annual event connects scientists, educators and lunar enthusiasts from around the world.
